Browsers with a Global Privacy Control signal

Global Privacy Control, or GPC, is a browser setting that asks every site not to sell or share personal data. Quirefox treats that signal as an opt-out from that browser. The site runs no advertising or analytics tags, so today the signal changes nothing in practice. It is still recorded, and it would bind the store if a tag were ever added.

Consumer rights with a California origin

California’s CCPA, as amended by the CPRA, lets residents refuse any sale of their personal data and any sharing of it for targeted ads. Several other states grant a similar right. Quirefox gives the same right to every customer in the United States.

Special cases with agents or teenagers

Agents need a signed note from the customer before acting for them. Data about a person younger than 16 is never sold or shared, consent or not. Open orders, returns, and refunds carry on as normal after an opt-out.

Opt-out requests with one email

Any one of these routes is enough:

  1. A message to contact@quirefox.com whose subject reads Opt out.
  2. The same words sent via the Contact Us form.
  3. Global Privacy Control switched on in the browser.

Verification without an ID

No ID is needed to opt out. The request is matched to the email address on the order. Support confirms it within 1 business day. The opt-out takes hold within 15 business days at most.

Sale and sharing with their legal meaning

A sale, under these laws, is personal data handed to another business in exchange for money or other value. Sharing is personal data handed over for ads aimed at a person across different websites. Quirefox does neither. The site carries no ad pixel. Data brokers receive nothing.

An opt-out with no effect on service

From then on, nothing about that customer may be sold or shared. Order records stay, because tax law requires keeping them. A deletion request, described in the Privacy Policy, handles that separately.

Prices without an opt-out penalty

An opt-out never changes a price, a shipping charge, or the quality of service. No customer is refused an order for using this right.
